This is a trend we can get behind. Last week seven Xbox Live games were reduced in price, then a few days ago three more games received some generous price slashing. Now the immensely popular Fruit Ninja by Halfbrick Studios took a tip from these titles (as well as its own prowess at slicing) to chop its asking down to only $0.99. The addictive fruit-decimating game was originally asking for $2.99.
Once again we have a feeling Halfbrick did this for platform competitiveness reasons, as it probably enjoyed the extra two bucks it was getting with every sale but didn't want to be outclassed by its mainstream rival Angry Birds. Unfortunately the game still has yet to receive a Mango update, which means you can't work-hard-and-slice-hard at around the same time but for $0.99 the game has finally fallen into its proper 'no duh' price point. Thanks for the tip, anonymous!
