Not to be ignored by the release of its most affordable 4G LTE Windows Phone, AT&T has given some attention to its most expensive 4G LTE Windows Phone and made that pill a little easier to swallow. WPCentral noticed that the HTC Titan II has received a price slash in an AT&T retail store, and we've since been able to confirm this by calling into two of our local stores as well.
Now for only $150 on contract, you can grab a truly decked out device featuring a 16-megapixel f/2.4 camera (the biggest available in the entire U.S. smartphone market), seductive 4.7" Super LCD screen, and of course support for AT&T's 4G LTE speeds. The off-contract price has also been reduced from $550 to $500.
This new pricing structure is a lot more logical in our opinion. While the Titan II does have obviously better specs than the Lumia 900 in some areas, we don't think it justified an extra $100. Now that the device is within $50 of Nokia's flagship, 'upgrading' to HTC's awesomely over the top handset shouldn't be too tough of a proposition anymore.
If you're in the market for a Windows Phone on AT&T, is this new lower-priced Titan II worth considering? Or is the Nokia Lumia 900 just too strong of a contender at a lower price?
