Another big announcement: native code development is coming to Windows Phone 8. Belfiore seemed pretty pumped up about this, promising "freaking killer games" coming soon to the platform. The move will also benefit developers, who should be able to port their natively coded apps much more efficiently than before. It's all based on DirectX which means most devs should be able to get up and running.
