Oh-em-gee, is Nokia teasing an announcement for this Monday? Isn't that when Microsoft is supposed to announce its own tablet? 1 + 1 = 2, thus Nokia is building a tablet for Microsoft. Right?
Wrong. You're right about the Nokia US Facebook page uploading cryptic images that include this coming Monday's date, and you're right that it's coincidentally the same day as that other thing. But if you're a music aficionado or a Kanye West fan, you'd know that the image above depicts a Roland TR-808 controller. Meanwhile the second image (after the break) shows off a satellite image of Honalulu, Hawaii...which just so happens to have the telephone area code of 808. Now you can add 1 + 1, and hopefully your answer comes out to 808 PureView because it looks like Nokia will be announcing availability of the Symbian super-cameraphone for the United States.
We're not exactly sure why Nokia would be building up hype for this, and their PR team should know better than to tease an announcement the same day as a Microsoft event, which would lead to the confusing chain of thought demonstrated in our first paragraph. It will be interesting to see if Nokia was able to build up enough interest to actually get the device subsidized on one of the big four carriers, but even if they don't it's still an exciting announcement for camera nerds who want to spend some quality time with a potential DSLR-killer.
