It's been a while since we've seen an app shoot up the charts in the Marketplace, particularly in the Free section. Typically Facebook, Twitter, Adobe Reader, YouTube and Skype are the familiar faces we'd see dominating the top charts. Then we noticed that Glu's Gun Bros has somehow found its way into the #3 overall spot of the Free app charts...in less than seven days!

It's just something we observed, and thought we'd share because it's been a long time since we've seen a game muscle its way into those ranks. More interestingly, it could be the first Xbox Live game to do so in the Free charts, since the games typically cost more moolah. So we guess you can chalk that up as a win for the Freemium model on Windows Phone.


Glu should hopefully see this as a sign of success on the platform and continue to support Windows Phone. If you've downloaded Gun Bros since it was released, how do you feel about the game? Is it really that awesome?
