Well now, what do we got here? A user agent profile has been spotted on Samsung's servers which reveals a new model number, the SGH-i687. If you're good at Windows Phone trivia, then you'd know that the Samsung Focus 2 is the SGH-i667 which is a remarkably similar model number to this mysterious new device.
Well, it's not that mysterious since the inclusion of Internet Explorer 10 in the user agent details gives away that it's a Windows Phone 8 device (as far as we know 7.8 won't get the new browser). More morsels of info are revealed, like the WVGA (480x800) display which is mid/low-range compared to the next-gen hardware standards. Also reported in the report is the presence of HSPA+ and LTE capabilities.
There's no definitive evidence that it's an AT&T-only device, but the circumstantial evidence (the model number, HSPA+, LTE, etc.) makes us believe this version will be a part of the carrier's lineup. So we have a hunch AT&T and Samsung may be cooking up this one as a Focus 3 that will follow its predecessor as a mid-range, affordable Windows Phone with 4G LTE.
Now that we know there's an SGH-i687 in the works, we're infinitely more curious about that i957 that leaked earlier in the year. (Ten bucks says that one is a Focus S2.)
