Late last night, word hit the news cycle that Windows Phone 8 would support USB mass storage as an extension to its already announced MicroSD card support. While we and WPDang considered this a rumor, it's possible that Microsoft had already hinted to us that the feature was included -- ever since June 20th, the day of the WP Summit.

WPCentral's Daniel Rubino has offered an extremely well-reasoned argument that claims just that, citing a few specific quotes from Joe Belfiore while he spoke about MicroSD card support for WP8. Specifically, he said that end users can "transfer contents from their PC to their phone" while using a MicroSD card. While he never does clearly say something like 'users can drag and drop files to their phones', we do have to admit that Mr. Rubino has got us there and it does indeed sound like exactly what WPDang described in their earlier report.

Don't believe us? Ok then, hear it from Joe Belfiore himself in our video above, which includes subtitles and a brief commentary from me. We'll still want to see the feature actually demonstrated in a Windows Explorer environment, but we doubt that would happen at any Microsoft event considering how hard they're pushing Metro apps instead.

So now we'll extend the same question in our video to you: do you think Joe Belfiore was talking about USB Mass Storage in his presentation, or would you rather see it before believing it?
