Joining Nokia's Camera Extras in a worldwide launch, there's another new Lumia-exclusive app that's finally been released. Contact Share was an app announced during the WP Summit craze and it should come in handy for many users. To clarify, this app is not to be confused with Contacts Transfer which is also available in the Nokia Collection but only swaps contact info over Bluetooth.
The app makes use of the nearly-ubiquitous vCard standard, which should be compatible with Symbian, Android, iOS, BlackBerry, and even other types of phones. Contact info is sent via SMS or email, but interestingly the app itself also includes its own dedicated inbox of contacts received by other phones. Once you receive a vCard, you can pick and choose what info to save to the People Hub including the profile photo if included. There are a few caveats to this app however: if you have a Lumia 710 or Lumia 800, you'll need the latest software update; and the app isn't available on CDMA phones (devices that use networks without SIM cards) for some odd reason.
