There's still plenty more to learn about Windows Phone 8, but some of the changes we thought were omitted have been hiding in plain sight. Insideris had a sharp eye while watching the Windows Phone 8 segment of WPC 2012 and observed a few new things. First of all, the arrow icon has seemingly been removed altogether as shown by the left screenshot of a transition animation, where the app list search icon is still present but the arrow is not. We figured it was gone now that the Start screen will take up more space, but we'll still miss it.
The second new discovery comes in the form of a slightly tweaked People Hub, as shown in the right screenshot. If you look at the People Hub today, the 'Recent' pivot has a wide 2x4 arrangement of your who you recently interacted with. In Windows Phone 8 however, this has been changed to a vertically scrolling list that's at lease 3x2 in showing people's tiles. We saw a similar change from Windows Phone 7 to 7.5, where the Pictures Hub and Music+Videos Hub were switched to vertical scrolling to display new and recent items, so it makes sense to apply it to the People Hub as well.
Any thoughts on these minor nip tucks? Love 'em, or hate 'em?
