Just a few days ago, we were talking about Nokia nabbing yet another excellent exclusive from a certain sports network, and we expected the download to go live soon. Well ESPN Radio has indeed arrived in the Marketplace, but guess what? It's not a Nokia exclusive after all, which we presumed it was since the announcement was published on the Nokia Conversations official blog.

So to recap, here's a list of all the major features of the app:

  • Listen live to internet broadcasts of over 35 ESPN Radio stations around the country
  • Listen to your favorite ESPN shows like Mike and Mike in the Morning, The Herd with Colin Cowherd, The Scott Van Pelt Show, The Michael Kay Show and many more!
  • Listen to play-by-play from some of your favorite college and professional sports teams*
  • Listen to 35 ESPN Radio podcasts including The B.S. Report with Bill Simmons, Pardon The Interruption, Around The Horn, Fantasy Focus and Tony Kornheiser Show
  • Listen OnDemand to SportsCenter - updated every 20 minutes!
  • Create custom stations and playlists with your favorite teams/topics/players/sports/shows
  • Download your playlists for ‘offline’ listening

Curiously, the app has been published under the name Expand the Room instead of ESPN's own account, which is of course home to the ScoreCenter app. It's just an observation, but one that makes it clear this app was meant for all Windows Phone users and not just Lumia owners. So go ahead and download ESPN Radio from the Marketplace for free by clicking on the tile/link below or by scanning the QR code with Bing Vision on your Windows Phone.
