As we move ever forward towards the future of Windows Phone, this week's new Xbox Live game takes a look back. Galaga Legions DX by Namco Bandai Games is a modern day reimagining of the retro arcade shooter, and it's available now in the Marketplace.

Originally released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2011, this revamped take on Galaga introduces the hottest new trend in shoot-em-ups: wave of enemies. You are tasked to defeat several dozens of enemies at once as you progress through a level. Of course the power ups that they leave behind will be key to surviving the brutal amount of fighting you'll have to do in order to survive. With the Windows Phone version you can expect the same features as any Xbox Live game, like support for achievements and thus the ability to earn gamerscore points.


Galaga Legions DX is available in the Marketplace for a costly $6.99 and is of course accompanied by the standard free trial (which you might want to consider first before spending the money).
