Joining its high-end brother is the HTC Windows Phone 8S, the company's new mid-tier Windows Phone 8 handset. We did not know much about this handset ahead of its launch, but now we know plenty.
Similar to the 8X, the 8S features a unibody construction with color choices and aesthetic inspired by Windows Phone's live tiles. Unlike the high-end device however, the 8S features a two tone construction with the 'chin' highlighted by an accent color.
The HTC 8S packs in a 4-inch WVGA (800x480) Super LCD display. Gorilla Glass protection, a 1 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, a microSD expansion slot, support for Beats Audio, and a decently sized 1700 mAh battery. Once again, HTC is touting their camera knowledge and the new 8S also incorporate the company's ImageChip technology. The HTC 8S features a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.8 aperture, 720p video recording, and an LED flash.
The HTC 8S will join the 8X on over 150 mobile operators worldwide which includes AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon stateside. However, we don't know at this point which carrier will get which phone. Stay tuned for more coverage throughout the day!
