Did you know that Microsoft and Nokia accidentally confirmed an unofficial feature right in front of us and we never realized it? Apparently they did.
Plaffo was tipped with an image from the Nokia-Microsoft press event highlighting a Facebook icon and a Twitter icon on the lock screen. So it appears that lock screen notifications will indeed be coming to Windows Phone 8 devices, and we have to assume these social network updates are coming from the People Hub though they could be the standalone apps as well.
For those who missed it, we first learned about this handy new feature from the Windows Phone 8 SDK leak a few months ago. As you can see in the image to the right, you choose which apps can go into the 'Quick Status' slots. Presumably, you could remove the Phone and Messaging from their slots and then have five customizable spaces to input apps.
We are definitely looking forward to the feature, as it should help quell some of the complaints Windows Phone has gotten for its notification system.
