It's Wednesday and do you know what that means? A new Xbox Live Game of the Week is out for Windows Phone!
Who doesn't love good old-fashioned zombie slaughter? Answer: no one. Plus it's the first Xbox release in the spookiest month of the year! That's why we think you have a reason to get pumped about the release of Extraction: Project Outbreak by Electronic Arts' Chillingo label.
As you might already be able to tell from the screenshots, Extraction touts impressive graphics for a seemingly under the radar game. The game utilizes a full 3D engine to render gorgeous textures and detailed models that we personally haven't seen from Windows Phone since The Harvest came out in 2010. Extraction's control scheme is another noteworthy aspect of the game, which is simply a one-finger touch and swipe system. (You can learn more about the game from watching the official trailer after the break.)
Rounding out the game's main selling points is a 4 to 5 hour long single player campaign, four different game modes to try — Extermination, Rescue, Repair and Escort — and finally a XP system through which to level your character up with new weapons and abilities. Based on reviews of the iOS version, Extraction is a game worth playing with a healthy 4-star average rating. Another thing worth pointing out about the iOS version? For once, it's more expensive for them than the 'Xbox tax' on Windows Phone!
