Last week the new procedural Elementary, a CBS produced remake of the BBC's beloved Sherlock, debuted in America. While die-hard fans of the original may have a few bones to pick with the remake turning the show's conventional formula on its head, any Windows Phone fan must have been pleased with what they saw last Thursday.

As Sherlock investigates a crime scene, he finds the victim's phone and tries to derive clues from it. The phone is what we're interested in, because it's a Nokia Lumia 800! Yep, the Brit stuck with the phone he knew no Americans could get their grubby hands on (without paying up, at least) instead of the more recent Lumia 900. We expected to see some product placement from Microsoft, and traditionally they've stuck with CBS dramas to pimp out their Windows Phones. (See the cameos made on Hawaii-Five-0 for proof.)

Hopefully we'll see a lot more product placement for Windows Phone 8 devices, but in the meantime this is a good first step. Check out the clip we captured from the show's pilot above, and for two more screenshots click past the jump. Also feel free to watch the full episode online now at the CBS website source link below (cameo begins around 8-minute mark).
