In case you haven't managed to get an update notification on your phone or Zune is saying there is no new update available, we're happy to share a quick tip with you. It's been dubbed the Zune 'disconnect trick' and has worked since the days of NoDo.

Simply open Zune and go to the Settings. Now instead of just clicking on the 'Update' button and waiting, what you need to do is disconnect your computer from the internet while Zune is still checking for the update. You need to do this about 3-4 seconds after you see the 'Checking for Updates' progress bar pop up. It may take a few tries, but eventually it should work.
