This is Windows Phone Daily, a blog dedicated to Microsoft's latest and greatest mobile platform. As you will find while browsing the site, you can expect frequent news posts as well as app reviews, tips, editorials, and more unique content on this exciting smartphone platform.
One of our goals with this blog is to provide a neutral, bias-free approach to Windows Phone-related news. This is a fanboy-free zone, people! Don't expect us to encourage trash-talking of other platforms here unless the story calls for it.
Another one of our goals is to provide different content from other Windows Phone blogs -- one day we want to be your exclusive source of news for Windows Phone. In the meantime, we have striven to differentiate ourselves with some of the best and most unique featured content of any Windows Phone-centric website. That includes our frequent Editorials, highlighting top apps or top stories through Top Five, analyzing and commenting on the latest gossip with Rumor Smasher, offering up helpful new tricks with Quick Tips, and of course writing simplified but thorough App Reviews and Game Reviews.
We hope you'll enjoy reading Windows Phone Daily and we look forward to becoming the biggest Windows Phone site on the net (someday)!

About Me

So who's the brains and brawn (but mostly brains) behind WPD? Allow me to reintroduce myself: my name is Saad Hashmi, I'm 20 years old and living in perpetually-pleasant Southern California. Instead of playing endless round upon round of Call of Duty online I thought I'd invest some of that free time towards a project that could benefit me in the long run.
So I created Windows Phone Daily on February 9, 2010 and boy was it ugly back then. I had little CSS/HTML knowledge outside of one failed experience customizing my MySpace profile back in middle school (yeah, it was that long ago). Since then I've educated myself and while I still have to search for everything I want to know I can confidently say that I'm half-decent at CSS and HTML. I also really got into Photoshop and so I consider myself pretty good at image editing too (at least better than my web coding skills).
Beyond the nerdiness I pour into this website, I have a life outside of it! Right now I'm attending college as a business major with a focus in marketing, and I am considering a minor in writing (so I can do more of this in my life) or in computer science (so someday Microsoft can hire me to work on Windows Phone 60.5). My musical tastes have veered towards rap and hip-hop lately, but as I'm writing this I'm listening to a playlist of all the Chuck music so it's safe to say I like indie, rock, alternative, pop, electronic, and plenty more.
Speaking of Chuck (rest in peace), I'm a huge fan of television. I watch way too much of it for my own good -- my all-time and current favorites include: Community, How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock, Modern Family, The Office, Chuck, Lost, Fringe, Supernatural, Mad Men, Person of Interest, Family Guy, Futurama, South Park, and more. I'm also a big fan of movies (who isn't?) and I'm a huge nut for American Football (Saints! 49ers! Chargers! Ravens! I don't play favorites.)
So if you've read this far into this quick bio I've written while avoiding some Accounting coursework, I hope you enjoy the rest of my writing on Windows Phone Daily. Thanks for reading and enjoy the stay!
